A Letter of Recommendation for Ronna Williams:

Ronna joined the online instruction faculty on the internet. She had missed the initial

training sessions and the collaboration that the other online faculty members had been privileged to. However; Ronna used her astute computer skills to gain a full understanding of the software and the variations available to present courses online. Eventually, she was advising others on the techniques she had developed to enhance the content as well as the appearance of ‘her’ CSN courses. Without a doubt some of the best courses on the CSN site are the history classes Ronna has prepared. Ronna was asked to share her knowledge of the various sites and applications of content with her colleagues at the professional development day for the AISA teachers and staff. Her presentation was outstanding and generated interest from all the attendees. In her usual spirit of cooperation she offered to place all her information online to share with those that were interested. Ronna Williams not only is able to offer a course online that has sound content with a motivational presentation; she also is a caring teacher. .

Ronna’s contributions to the AISA CSN program have been’ above the call of duty.’

Letter of Recommendation

June 11, 2009

I take great pleasure in recommending Mrs. Ronna Williams. Mrs.Williams has taught at our school for several years. During this time, her record has been impeccable, her knowledge and expertise unquestioned, and her capabilities as a teacher and a leader of youth have been an inspiration to us all. She is respected and literally loved by her students.

Mrs. Williams faced some very serious issues growing up but she overcame all of this and is now using it to relate to her students. Her faith and confidence is an inspiration to the entire school.

 Sincerely,

James E. Partin, Headmaster

Ronna William's Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is modeled after a great educator from the 1800s. Her name was Charlotte Mason & she believed in the "gentle art of learning". You won't find anything shoved down your throat in my class. Instead, I offer knowledge; the responsibility to accept it is completely optional. I realize that many students learn very differently than others & I promise to prepare lessons that meet all needs. Students must participate in the lessons & take ownership in their own education.  More recently, I have adapted a modern educator named Ron Clark’s ideas into my own teaching philosophy. Like Ron Clark, I believe in teaching the hidden curriculum of life skills including manners.

I truly believe that students don't care what you know until they know that you care. I don't just teach history, I teach students. Students with lives with problems, fears and dreams. It is my job to teach the whole student which means stopping a moment to care when a student is struggling with the pressures of life.

I love many students, but there are two that I love because they are my own.
