$10  *ONLY $5 FOR LIMITED TIME*
(For a Limited Time Only This Item is Half Price As A Customer Appreciation!) Sale Ends Soon
About this item:
This Presentation is 106 slides in Powerpoint Format

After finishing my presentation on Renaissance and Reformation, I wanted to include other details and people from the period. I developed this portion as Part 1 because it is a great foundation to teach before the original presentation of Renaissance and Reformation (below).  Each of the presentations can stand alone, but compliment each other rather than repeat each other. There are few slides which I duplicated from the other presentation like the virtual field trip to St. Peter's Basilica. I did not want anyone to miss that. This presentation pays more attention to maps and details and comes with a free lecture guide with over 50 fill in the blanks for students to follow along with.
Includes Information on:
Italy, France, Germany, England, Switzerland, Renaissance, Humanism, Medieval,
Humanities, clergy, sonnet, Petrarch, autobiographies, individualism, Machiavelli, latin,
indulgences, Lorenzo Valla,  Society and class in Italy, government  in Italy, Signori, condottieri,
Florence, Rome and Venice and their role in the Italian Renaissance, Medici, Lorenzo the Magnificent,
Savonarola, heresy, architecture, St. Peter's Basilica, Pope Alexander VI, Pope Leo X, Doge, Council of
Ten,  Sculpture and Painting, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo Buonorrati, Raffaello Sanzio, Raphael,
Several Colorful examples of the Art of the Renaissance.

How the Italian Renaissance

Important inventions that facilitated the

Protestant reformation and the
problems with the early Catholic church...
A virtual tour of  St. Peter's Basillica that
will take your breath away!
Lutheranism...
The spread of Protestantism...
Calvinism...
King Henry VIII, his wives, his
 break
 with the Catholic Church...
A terrific skit about King Henry's
wives performed by my students.
I encourage you to have your
students do their own version &
upload it to You Tube...
Baroque Art......
The Jesuits...
The difference between primary
 and secondary sources...
There is an art activity with an

Your students will do great with
 this one!
Ideas
arrowhead_point_left_sm_clr
Here are some ideas to use with the Reformation presentation. These are only
ideas, and know you have your own great
ones!
I always give the study guide while I am
giving the presentation. This way the students
have something in their hands to actively do
while I am teaching. I always have them use a highlighter for sections where I did not really
give blanks, so they still have something to
engage them. At the end of class, I give a
class grade for students who keep up with
the lecture and have all their blanks
and words I told them to highlight.
They get a daily grade for doing this.
At the end of the first lecture , you could
have students select one of these concepts
to do an art project. When I say art project,
my students know that I mean a graphic
guide. An image that somehow allows them to put
the meaningful parts of the lecture into it. For example....One of the terms in the first section is
War of the Roses....They could draw a rose or make
a rose from construction paper....the pedals or the leaves of the rose should important
terms written on them and even the vase the
roses are in. For example, on one pedal, the student could write William Shakespeare- and his
importance on the back.
Another pedal or leaf could say War of the
Roses and it’s meaning on back
Johannes Gutenberg- invented the printing
press.......
These things reinforce everything you did in
class.
These works can be placed around the room and
used during study sessions.
My students always amaze me!
The next lesson has several ideas for graphic guides.....the social ladder...they can really
make a ladder as some of my students did.
The ladder would have terms written on each rung.
Lightning bolt (having to do with Martin Luther)
The storm around it could have important terms.
If you allow your students to do elaborate
meaningful projects each lesson will take a
 few days.
It’s not simple “arts and crafts”. It’s content
 disguised as fun.
My method is always to give the guide and the
lecture then let them build something to show
me they understand what we learned.
I do have a graphic guide activity idea in the presentation on one of the sections...It refers to
Henry VIII’s wives.....
_____________I hope these ideas spark your
own ideas.
